Participant Data Audit Tool
A paper tool that collects data to add to a (usually) electronic data base. Data collected should be specifically related to the measured outcomes of the research programme that validated the programme. If the programme does not have a direct evidence base, then the chosen outcomes should be those of similar research based programmes (see Diabetes Education Network audit tool for Type 1 programmes.) The audit is expected to capture ‘intermediate’ outcome measures related to metabolic control (HbA1c; hypoglycaemia), quality of life and emotional distress/depression/mood/wellness.
